Summer 2022 Classes

This course will help your child learn the essential study skills they need to succeed during the school year, while also building crucial executive function skills. Your child’s coach will teach techniques to help them plan ahead for assignments and tests and strategies to keep their schoolwork (and life!) organized. Their coach will also guide them on note-taking strategies, to ensure they’re paying attention in class and have useful materials to review when it’s time to study.

90 minutes/day for 5 days + 1 one-hour follow-up meeting with parents, student, and coach

It can be nerve-racking for a student to stand up in front of the class and deliver a speech. In this weeklong course, your child will learn public speaking techniques to calm their nerves and gain confidence in their delivery. These important life skills will carry well beyond the classroom, as your child prepares for future presentations and pursues new opportunities or leadership roles.

Interviewing for a job, internship, college, or scholarship can feel scary, but with the right strategies and techniques, your teen can learn to ace future interviews to land exciting opportunities. In this course, your student’s coach will teach them how to give stand-out answers to common interview questions and how to craft excellent answers on the spot. During the week, your teen will also have the opportunity to participate in mock interviews with the instructor and will learn how to use constructive criticism to their advantage.

In this class, middle school students will learn the fundamentals of academic writing. Your child’s writing coach will teach them how to plan for assignments, organize their ideas, and then how to get their thoughts down on paper. They will work through the week to craft five-paragraph essays, while building the writing techniques and executive function skills they need to succeed in middle school and beyond.

In this class, high school students will learn the fundamentals of academic writing for high school, college, and beyond. Your teen’s writing coach will teach them how to plan for assignments, organize their ideas, and then how to properly get their thoughts down on paper. Throughout the week, your student will learn academic strategies and executive function skills to help them prepare them for writing assignments in any subject from research reports to AP writing prompts.
