Juniors and seniors have a lot to do to get ready.

Our caring and knowledgeable college counselors are here to help with every significant step!

Our college counseling for juniors and seniors includes:

College Counseling

  • Your family receives a custom, well-researched list of “right fit” colleges, based on your teen's academic strengths and interests.
    • This includes a balanced list of target, reach, and safety schools.
  • We help schedule and plan college visits and prepare for college interviews.
  • Your student learns how to research scholarship opportunities and write essays to help their scholarship applications stand out.
  • Your teen is guided on how to properly ask for and submit recommendation letters.

College Applications

  • We help students select just the right topic and help edit essays, supplemental questions, and your student's final high school resume.
  • Your family gets a custom schedule with application due dates.
  • We help support your teen’s application for up to 10 colleges on their list (with the Common Application or Coalition Application). This includes:
    • Guidance with handling transcripts, letters of recommendation, school forms, and other documents that need to be submitted.
  • They are advised on how “demonstrated interest” impacts college admission.
  • We help your family weigh the pros and cons of each offer and determine financial aid packages.

Course Selection and Testing Plan

  • Your teen receives guidance on high school course selection.
  • We help your student decide if their strengths are a better match for taking the ACT or SAT, or if they should apply without a score given the test-optional movement.
  • We help develop a strategic plan for AP exams as well as college entrance tests.

Career Counseling and Extracurriculars

  • Your teen works with their college counselor to design a balanced extracurricular list to highlight and emphasize their interests. Recommended activities include sports, clubs, hobbies, leadership opportunities, and community involvement.
  • Your teen is encouraged and taught how to aim for honors and awards and how to obtain leadership roles in extracurricular activities, volunteer opportunities, or at work.
  • They learn to develop, shape, and build a high school resume to help their accomplishments shine among the college applicant pool.
