At Educational Connections, we’re more than just a tutoring company.

We believe that every student, even the most accomplished ones, can use a little help with optimizing their study habits. For that reason, we incorporate skills like staying organized, planning ahead to reduce procrastination, and study techniques into most everything we do. We offer four services: Subject Tutoring, Executive Function Coaching, Test Prep, and College Consulting.

Student studying at home

We meet students where they are. At Educational Connections, we have an outstanding tutoring program proven to fill in your child's learning gaps, keep them on track, improve executive function skills, and make parenthood a lot less stressful.

Our Executive Function Coaching is a unique, research-based program to help your child master the skills they need to succeed in school and life. In this program, your child will learn how to get organized, manage their time well, study effectively, and stay motivated.

In a few hours my son’s tutor had him on the right path. He scored a 96% on his test following his first two sessions. I am very happy for my son and impressed by the quality of your teachers at Educational Connections.
We’ve been working with a tutor from Education c Connections for a couple years and we think she’s the best Tutor we’ve ever worked with. Previously, we had a tutor from through the school and from another company , and they were not as experienced, professional, or as patient as out tutor from Education Connection. The Tutor is also very funny and nice!

By Erin Ebert | May 6, 2013

Did you know that student can lose up to two months of academic gains over the summer?  Imagine spending the first two months of each new school year trying to catch up and relearn what you learned last year.  Sounds frustrating, right?  It’s no surprise that this setback attributes to the achievement gap.  Think about … Read more

Why You Should Avoid Doing a lot of Math on the SAT

By Guest Author | May 2, 2013

When I used to tutor SAT prep, it was nails on a chalkboard to me when students said with despair, “I’m just bad at math.” “Right,” I would say. “You’re probably also bad at building bridges, dancing the lead in Swan Lake, and performing open heart surgery. Why? Because you haven’t properly learned and practiced … Read more

Three Tips for Helping Your Child Get Organized this Summer

By Erin Ebert | April 29, 2013

How organized is your son or daughter?  Be honest.  Have you ever walked into his or her bedroom and been confronted by mounds of clothes, toys, and trinkets?  Does your child’s backpack serve as a graveyard for papers and old hand-outs?   Does your son or daughter bristle at the thought of keeping a calendar and … Read more

Planning for the SAT: Why You Need to Think about the Test Well Ahead of Time

By Guest Author | April 25, 2013

If you’re panicking about SAT prep, stop! Well, actually, let me clarify: if your student isn’t taking the test for six more months, stop panicking. However, if your student is taking the test in a week and he hasn’t even so much as looked at a practice test, I hope you have a teenage savant … Read more

Are small class size and stellar writing programs important to you? Think about private high school.

By Ann Dolin | April 24, 2013

I don’t recommend thinking about a private high school for your rising freshman unless you care about small class sizes, more individualized attention especially in writing, and solid college counseling. If those things aren’t a concern and your student thrives in a big school environment, private school might not be right. Here’s what a private … Read more

The Effect of Music on Studying: What the Research Says

By Guest Author | April 23, 2013

I am a person who hates silence. No matter if I’m driving, cleaning the house, or grocery shopping; chances are I’m listening to music. My resistance to silence has cost me hours upon hours in the library as a student convincing myself that I could write an analytical paper and listen to Third Eye Blind … Read more
