Educational Connections has been selected as a provider for the Virginia Department of Education's K-12 Learning Acceleration Grant. Governor Glenn Youngkin launched this program to support families living in Virginia dealing with the pandemic's lasting impacts on their kids' education.
Parents of school-age children can receive grants ranging from $1500 to $3000 for tutoring services. There are no income requirements or caps for the smaller grant.
Your family can qualify if you currently live in Virginia and your child attends K-12 public or private school or is home-schooled.
Getting Your Grant is as Easy as 1, 2, 3
- Apply for your child’s VDOE tutoring grant HERE. $30 million dollars is up for grabs, and there’s no word on how quickly it will run out.
- Once you are approved (about one week after applying), create an account on ClassWallet.
- After you have created your ClassWallet account and the grant funds are added to your “purse,” schedule a call to have your child matched with one of our hand-selected tutors. Be sure to let us know that you’re using a VDOE grant for your student’s learning plan.
The $1500 grant will cover 13 one-to-one virtual tutoring sessions (half of these sessions must be used, and documentation showing proof of completed sessions must be submitted within ClassWallet by August 15, 2023). The larger grant will pay for 26 one-to-one sessions.
