Educational Coaching

When you choose Educational Connections, you can be confident you are investing in the most superior tutoring available anywhere.

In fact, with top credentials, solid experience, and Educational Connections’ own tutoring system, our tutors can deliver twice the value in every session compared with services that customize the tutor-student match but then use one-size-fits-all tutoring regardless of the child’s learning style and needs.

Parents value our ability to deliver progress. Parents also trust our warm but highly professional tutoring to help students master skills, confidence, and strategies that will continue to reward them in school and beyond.

Student Teacher Prepping for New SAT

Research Based

Our tutors combine their own experience and strategies with the latest research-based study skills and best practices for improving executive functioning skills. In short, it’s not what we think will work but what we know will make a difference.

Hand Picked Coaches

We carefully select our educational coaches from among our tutors. We choose tutors who already have excellent communication and organization skills and the ability to prioritize. Then we train them in how to teach those same skills to students.

Programs are modified to best serve each individual student’s needs. For example, to remove parents from the role of homework police, our tutors can text students regarding their assignments so that even on days when tutoring does not take place, tutors can hold students accountable and remind them of strategies they have practiced.

A True Program

We use a proven program instead of just helping students with homework.

Our in-home coaches work with students to:

  • Create and implement a system for organization of binder and materials.
  • Prioritize daily homework assignments.
  • Complete long-term projects by breaking them down into manageable chunks.
  • Schedule homework and extracurricular time.
  • Teach valuable study and test-taking skills such as memory techniques, note-taking, and active reading strategies.
  • Monitor homework quality and completion.

How to Help Your Child with Homework

In the video below, Ann Dolin, M.Ed., describes the common struggles many students and parents face at homework time. Even the brightest children can become overwhelmed or have trouble focusing. Students who have trouble staying organized, managing their time, or staying on task can benefit from Educational Coaching. Watch the video to learn how an educational coach can help your child.

I cannot say enough amazing words about Miss Cindy and what a perfect match EC made when you placed her and Nico together. He has thrived over the last 18+months with the consistent, focused engagement that Miss Cindy has provided. She is patient, kind, motivating and I have seen firsthand the talent and professionalism she brings to her tutoring. Essentially she has been a tremendous part of Nico's continued success in learning and a special person to our entire family. While we know Nico will struggle to learn, he has worked so hard and we as parents and his teachers at school see his great progress....and that is only through him working so hard and others believing in him. His teachers and supporters including Miss Cindy have made the difference and for this, we are profoundly grateful and hopeful. Nico is a beautiful and bright boy who is full of life and love and we will continue to support him in every way possible.

I wanted you to know how pleased we have been with your services! Our daughter has improved her grade so much in Algebra. Karen has been really good for her and our daughter has been able to understand the materials.

I am compelled to tell you how incredible Ashley is as a tutor. Let's start with the fact that she arrived every day on time and got right down to business and she stayed until the hour ended, every time. Ashley is someone who has a gift. She knows exactly how to take concepts and pull them off the page to help students learn. For example, she once came into the kitchen and asked for a glass of water to dramatize volume to our child. She would often tell our child, "I showed you how to do it, now I want you to teach it back to me." She never came unprepared, she always had worksheets, problems for our child to work on in case there was not much math homework or a quiz to study for. Her goal was always to make sure that our child truly understood the concepts that they were working on. It has made a world of difference to our child to have Ashley's support and knowledge.
