Kristin Olsen-Landis spent 11 years in the University of Virginia's Office of Undergraduate Admissions, reading over 10,000 applications and deciding who got in. Now she's on your side of the desk.

Since joining Educational Connections in 2022, Kristin has helped students gain admission to more than 200 colleges and universities, including Vanderbilt, Duke, and Princeton, as well as Johns Hopkins, Dartmouth, and UVA. That track record starts with what she brings from her time as an Education Support Specialist and Reader at UVA, where she evaluated applicants from across the U.S. and internationally for all five of UVA's undergraduate programs, including transfer students. She knows what admissions officers are actually looking for because she was one of them.

Kristin works with students at every stage of the process: course selection, extracurricular and summer planning, college list building, essay brainstorming and revision, application strategy, and interview prep. Her focus is always on the individual. She helps each student figure out what makes them stand out, shape a story that holds together across their application, and build a college list that actually fits who they are and where they want to go.

Before moving into higher ed, Kristin practiced law for both large corporations and nonprofits. She holds a J.D. from Emory University School of Law and a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Richmond, where she competed as a Division I swimmer on an athletic scholarship.

She also knows this process as a parent. Kristin has guided all three of her own children through it. That combination of firsthand professional experience and the view from her own kitchen table is what makes her such a trusted partner for students and families working through one of the biggest decisions of their lives.
