Summer Keyboarding Class
Back by popular demand we are pleased to announce that we will once again hold a summer keyboarding class for rising 3rd-7th graders. This class will be held at our learning center in Fairfax, VA. For many students, typing is often much easier than handwriting. Our instructors will use proven, multi-sensory methods and up-to-date software to increase your child's typing speed and overall computer and internet skills. Two sessions will be offered over the months of July and August. Each session will consist of twice weekly classes for a total of eight classes per session.
Summer Study Skills Class
This hands-on, interactive class will teach students how to organize, plan, and study more effectively based on their unique learning style. Each of the eight sessions will be jam packed with useful study techniques for students entering grade 6-8, including:
- Active Reading Strategies
- Organizational Tools — For binders, lockers, desks, and home
- Goal Setting "How To's"
- Time Management — Short and Long term planning
- Note Taking and Memory Techniques
- Transition Skills for students changing schools
