SSAT Flex Testing/Individual Testing
What is the difference between a Flex Test and a National Test?
A Flex Test and a National Test are the same test, scored the same way by SSAT, and sent to schools of your choice in the same manner. However, a Flex Test is administered by an educational consultant on a date and time of your choosing, rather than on the pre-assigned National Test dates. Students taking a Flex Test during the weekday are almost never in a group setting. Upon completion, the Flex Test is mailed to SSAT for scoring with results sent to you in approximately two weeks.
Why take a Flex?
Some benefits that we've heard:
- "My son tests better when he's not distracted by other students in a room."
- "My daughter is at her best in the afternoon, so we chose a 1 pm start time."
- "All the spaces for the national test date were booked."
- "We were out of town on a national test date" or "we missed the national date."
- "My children understand directions better when it's just them and a proctor."
