Using the Summer to Start College Applications
  
School is out for the summer and while rising seniors may be under the impression that they won't have to write another essay until the fall, they may want to think again. Summer is the best time to begin working on college admission essays when students' schedules are typically less busy.

There are many ideas circling about what an application essay should include. Some of the common ones we've heard are: a list of accomplishments, an explanation of part of your application, and a comedy routine. COMMON APPLICATION ESSAY PROMPTS
2013-14 topics have been released

Supplemental essay prompts for some individual schools may not be available until August, but the Common App essay prompts are available now. (Free Choice is no longer an option!) Currently 488 colleges and universities use the Common App, so there's a good chance some, if not all, of your prospective schools use it. Read through your options as soon as possible to determine your topic and start writing.
