Recently, the idea that people have a distinct learning style has come under fire.  It is true that no individual is just one type of learner -- auditory, visual, or hands-on. The fact is, people need all three ways to truly commit information to memory.

While most students are typically stronger  in one area than another, the trick is  figuring out the preferred method and capitalizing on those strengths.  Have your child take a few minutes to complete this informal learning survey and try it yourself, too.  The results may surprise you!

Stephanie began working with Educational Connections in February 2011 and has quickly become one of our most successful tutors!  Stephanie's expertise is teaching phonics-based reading programs as well as providing  educational coaching support.
Stephanie's previous work experience includes teaching students with mild learning disabilities. When asked what she enjoys most about tutoring she said, "I love the challenge of reaching a child that has been struggling, and watching them learn to enjoy learning and increase their self-confidence."
A native Californian, Stephanie moved to the Washington DC area with her husband a little over a year ago. When not tutoring, Stephanie can be found exploring DC, hiking, camping, and playing with her two cats and dog.
