Mastering the content and applying proven test taking strategies are skills that can help students achieve outstanding results. Our highly trained test prep tutors will provide your child the needed in-home, one-on-one attention to improve scores on these important tests.
We help students to comprehensively prepare for standardized tests such as the SAT, ACT, PSAT, SSAT and ISEE. We offer highly trained, qualified, and caring test prep tutors in the Washington, D.C. area who will customize instruction. Our test prep tutors travel to students' homes in the D.C. Metro area.
Test Preparation Program
Our first step in standardized test preparation is to determine each child's learning style and needs. We then hand-select a qualified test prep tutor who will best suit the student's personality and the determined content areas. Our curriculum for most standardized test prep packages starts with a full practice test, administered at our office under standardized conditions.
We provide each test prep tutor with a thorough analysis of the results that enables him/er to focus on areas in greatest need of improvement. Once a student has completed 80% of his/er prep, we administer a final diagnostic test that allows us to troubleshoot last minute issues. Sessions in our prep packages are all 1-1/2 hours long.
Our research into students' pre and post SAT scores reveal:
-80% of students receiving 12-15 sessions of direct test prep instruction increase an average of 100 points on the SAT
-80% of students receiving 7 sessions or less of direct test prep instruction increase an average of 50 points on the SAT
Our Test Prep Tutoring Packages
Platinum Test Prep Tutoring
2 practice tests, 22.5 hrs. of prep (15 sessions), and a prep book
Students will review math, reading, writing, and vocabulary skills while strengthening test-taking abilities and reinforcing content and strategies. The Platinum Prep Package is recommended for all types of students, and highly recommended for those students wishing to significantly improve their scores. The two free full practice tests are executed under standardized conditions here in our Farifax office. This package costs $1,800.00.
Gold Test Prep Tutoring
1 practice test, 18hrs. prep (12 sessions), and a prep book
Recommended for students who have less time to prepare, but still need comprehensive instruction. The Gold Prep Package also includes one free practice test that is executed under standardized conditions here in our Fairfax office. This package costs $1,500.00
Silver Test Prep Tutoring
10.5 hrs. of prep (7 sessions), and a prep book
A quicker preparation for standardized tests, the Silver Prep Package is for those students wishing to become familiar with the test in a shorter period of time. Many students opting for this package have already taken a prep course or are in need of focusing on one subject. This package costs $900.00
PLEASE NOTE:
We highly recommend that tutoring sessions as part of a package be 1.5 hrs long. This provides ample time to cover test taking strategies, review content on the test, and apply the skills to practice problems.
Hourly sessions with a test prep tutor are available at the rate of $95.00. Our professional staff at the office in Fairfax can also provide hourly test prep sessions at the rate of $105.00.
Practice tests administered under standardized conditions include a feedback report. They can be purchased outside of a test prep package for $250.00.
Unused practice tests and/or test prep sessions that are part of a package will not be refunded.
